An adult 10 foot long Python such as this can easily swallow a Chital deer whole. But when this cold-blooded Python comes out to warm its scales in the winter sun of the Rajasthan desert, this Chital deer comes perilously close (without recognizing the Python in its camouflaged situation), but there is no predatory action as the Python has slowed its metabolism and actions for the winter season and while it looks longingly at the deer, it does nothing! Nonetheless, this is a rare sequence of an interaction in the wild that would otherwise have led to crazy predator-prey action!
