Workers cut and load the trunks and branches of a tree after it fell during a fierce pre-monsoon summer storm in the heart of Lutyens' Delhi, India. By surrounding mature trees with cemented pavements and grilled walls, we are depriving the trees of New Delhi of breathing space and chocking them to death. In heavy storms, they often give way and fall to the ground due to this congestion. They are quickly cut apart and taken away, by local contractors. A storm is any disturbed state of an astronomical body's atmosphere especially affecting its surface, and strongly implying severe weather.
