Alpine meadows of upper Karshmir, India. Snow-melt streams arise from glaciers that have thick forests of Himalayan Birch growing at their bases. The route to the upper meadows go through such valleys as Tanmarg, Sonemarg / Sonmarg, Baltal and head into peaks such as Kolohai.
