A juvenile bachha kauwa dozes off as it leaves its nest and roosts on a branch of the same shehtoot or mulbery tree. Risky business as it could well fall to the Ring Road below, not used to sitting on a branch and comfortable in the safety of its nest thus far! Ready to fledge and abandon their nest, these crow chicks are fully grown, and can barely fit into their earlier digs. They flap their wings in eager anticipation of their first flight and journey into the world. Mother crow comes along and stuffs the hungry upward-facing gapes of the hungry chicks - all mouths they are! Those wings look more like flippers and those necks look terribly weak and unsupported. Bare unprotected chicks with no feathers and their eyes shut, exposed to the world in a flimsy nest high above traffic. And yet
