Landing at Paro airport is said to be one of the more difficult landings at any airport in the world, as the valley is surrounded by steep hillsides and snow mountains and any approach or exit from the valley must be rapid and steep, in order to surmount the valley walls. Here, a Bhutan Airlines aeroplane belonging to the Tashi Group comes in to land at the only airport in the land-locked Kingdom of Bhutan, sending up a plume of water behind each engine, on the runway, thanks to the recent winter rain... Imagine negotiating cold weather, low temperatures, high altitude, a sudden descent and rainfall, to top it all, when landing this huge machine?
