A Greater Coucal (Centropus sinensis), also known as the crow pheasant, is walking through green vegetation in the Wilderness Orchard habitat in Delhi. The bird displays glossy dark plumage, chestnut-brown wings, and distinctive ruby-red eyes that contrast sharply with its black facial feathers. Greater Coucals are members of the cuckoo family and are commonly found in scrublands, orchards, wetlands, and urban green spaces across the Indian subcontinent. The species spends much of its time moving through dense vegetation and is known to be a relatively weak flyer compared to many other birds. Thick greenery and ground cover in the orchard provide suitable shelter and foraging habitat for the bird.
