Ghazipur Landfill reveals one of India's largest and most recognizable waste disposal sites. The massive landfill rises like an artificial mountain, formed by decades of accumulated municipal solid waste. Hundreds of scavenging birds, including kites and crows, circle overhead in search of food, while heavy machinery works across the slopes to manage and process the ever-growing waste. Visible on the landfill are waste-handling systems and trommel screening equipment used for segregation and recovery operations. The hazy atmosphere, shaped by dust, emissions, and urban pollution, underscores the environmental challenges associated with large-scale waste management in rapidly growing cities.
