A large flock of Demoiselle Cranes is foraging across a dry open grassland landscape in Rajasthan during the winter season. The cranes move together while feeding on the ground across the semi-arid terrain typical of their seasonal wintering habitats in northwestern India. Dense green thorny bushes and small acacia-like trees form a horizontal belt across the landscape beneath a pale, hazy sky. The elegant cranes display their slender necks, long legs, and soft grey plumage while spreading across the open field in large numbers. Rajasthan is an important winter destination for migratory Demoiselle Cranes arriving from Central Asia and surrounding regions. The footage captures migratory bird behaviour, grassland ecology, and the winter wildlife landscape of Rajasthan.
