The President's Bodyguards, highest unit of the Indian Army take part in a mounted parade in the Presentation of the Silver trumpet and the Trumpet banner. The ceremony was held on 30th March, 2013 and the honorary trumpet was presented by President of India, Dr. Pranab Mukherjee. The PBG was raised in the year 1773, in Benaras by then Governor General, Sir Warren Hastings, with strength of 50 handpicked troopers. They were known by different names as years passed, but for a major chunk of time they were known as the GGBG, that is the Governor General's Body Guards. Over the years, it continued to be a first-rate cavalry unit, chiefly for the personal and battlefield security of the Governor Generals.
