Traditional collection of wild honey from a honey bee hive located on a tree. A group of people prepares for the harvest while one individual, wearing a cloth face covering for protection, approaches the hive. The harvester carries a bundle of leafy vegetation producing smoke, which is used to calm and disperse the bees around the nest. He climbs the tree and carefully directs the smoke toward the hive before cutting a section of the honeycomb using a hand tool. After descending from the tree, the harvested comb is processed on the ground. The honey is then extracted, filtered, and collected in a container.
