The attacking leopard literally lopes up the sloping trunk of this Acacia tree in Rajasthan, India. It attacks the milder leopard which has retreated up to the higher branches. The attacker, also the more aggressive one, loses balance, and falls to the ground some thirty feet below. Obviously disoriented and possibly temporarily hurting, it gallops back to the tree, but then decides to back off. The miracle is how it fell, balanced during the fall and managed to fall the right way on its feet, without getting hopelessly injured.
