A grass skipper butterfly belongs to the subfamily Hesperiinae, a diverse group within the skipper family (Hesperiidae). These butterflies are small, compact, and known for their quick, darting flight close to the ground. They are commonly found in grassy habitats such as meadows, agricultural fields, roadside vegetation, and forest clearings. Grass skippers typically display shades of orange-brown, yellow-brown, or dull tawny, often with subtle markings on their wings. One of their key identifying features is their hooked antennae and sturdy body structure. When resting, many species hold their forewings at an angle while keeping their hindwings flat. The caterpillars primarily feed on grasses, making them closely associated with grassy ecosystems. Adults feed on nectar from small flowers
