Street food vendor waits for long in Place Mohamed V Square, however, the pedestrians pay no heed and the poor man waits for customers. People on the way to work either walk or take the Casablanca Tramway just as the ones waiting for the tram at the station. Named in honour of the former Sultan, Place Mohamed V is undisputedly the heart of Casablanca. Forming the central hub of Casablanca’s new town is the popular Place Mohamed V. This central plaza houses some of Casablanca’s most striking architecture and is home to many of the city’s important official buildings, such as the French Consulate, the Bank of Morocco, the Court of Justice and the main post office.
