Orthotomus sutorius or the Common Tailor Bird or Darzi chiriya uses sutures bound with cotton to weave a nest out of two leaves of a mango sapling in a pot, thus earning itself the moniker of being a 'tailor bird'. The male's elongated central tail feather sticks out of the nest as it gets to the bottom to pile in cottony soft materials for the inner lining. The male can also be recognized by the black dashes on either side of its neck.
