This alarmingly large number of tented camps with mini swimming pools has clearly eaten into village rice and barley fields. Where does all the camp crap go? Tell us they treat the sewage and tell us another lie. As Uttarakhand hurtled into low-cost camp tourism instead of agriculture, this is the alarming situation on the ground. With multiple such low-cost camps, sewerage becomes an issue, water gets used for tourist swimming pools instead of agriculture and toilet waste gets spewed across the hills.
