Ziro is situated in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, 167 kms from the capital Itanagar. It can be reached via road from Guwahati or Dibrugarh towns in Assam. Vivekananda Kendra, a spiritually oriented Service Mission, is a Voluntary organisation, in service of humanity on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda through Man-making and Nation-Building projects in the fields of Education, Culture and Sustainable Development, and over 250 branch centres located across India. Vivekananda Kendra runs 34 CBSE-affiliated English medium schools, under one of its Education projects, "Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh Trust" (VKVAPT), in the north-eastern Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh.
