Ara is Bhutan’s local liquor made of fermented rice. Many visitors tasted ara and bangchang at Gandhi National Center for the Arts from 23rd till the 30th Sept 2018. one of the guys shook his head and said- it's nice and you can see the bitter expression. Ara is one of the strongest alcohol in Bhutan and it can be made from rice, barley, millet, maize etc..
