Bhutanese making corn Kharang using the traditional Rock Grinder

During the olden days when there were no machines, people used rock grinder to grind rice, corn, wheat, barley, millets etc... for the meal. The lady is grinding maize on average sizes and it's white and yellow in colour. Bhutanese people prefer calling it by the local name: Kharang (corn mean). You can make the local ara (alcohol) out of cornmeal and it can be used as a substitute for rice too. With the advance of technology, the uses of rock grinder are decreasing drastically, however it is still used in rural villages. While she is grinding, a lady offers her the local ara and she kept the small curry bowl inside her Kira after drinking.
