This is a dance in honour of Buddhist Saint Padmasambhava, popularly known as ‘Guru Rimpoche’ (Padmasambhava, Pema Jugne). The performance draws hundreds of people in a spirit of blessing and is one of the best ways to discover the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan. The dance comes to life with colour, music, dance and drama as people gather to witness the dance and other sacred rituals. This performance is performed by monks and the royal dancers of Bhutan commonly known as RAPA (The Royal Academy of Performing Arts)in colourful Tibetan dress known as 'Begho' and different costumes instructing audience about the Buddhist Dharma. Two of the monks wearing different attires are holding the damaru. The Damaru is a sacred two-sided drum that is considered essential support for Buddhist rituals,
