There is active human conflict in conservation within Rajaji National Park. Gujjar cow-herders are allowed to live within the sanctuary area, with their cattle potentially carrying bovine diseases that can infect wild animals. They light fires, build homes and carry out a range of disturbing activities within Rajaji. Driving from Roorkee to Dehra dun, one enters Rajaji National Park and sees a variety of fascinating ancient Shivalik hills... One also crosses the seasonal streams within the forest. Rajaji National Park is an Indian national park that encompasses the Shivaliks, near the foothills of the Himalayas.
