Viewers tells us that the loud roar comes from the thrust reversers at work. They make a loud howling noise. Kind of like braking. It's very normal to hear this sound when landing on a short runway. Landing at Paro Airport is considered among the toughest airport landings in the world. The plane needs to make a steep descent amidst a valley surrounded by hills before touching down on the runway. Seen here is an Airbus A319 of Drukair landing at the Paro airport. Also, a Bhutan Airways plane is prepping for take-off. Likewise, for the landing, he needs all the runway space he can get, in order to decelerate and not cause too much tyre friction...
