Monsoon in the inner / deeper Himalaya, with mists swirling around Joshimath town before houses started collapsing here, due to subsidence, road-building, over-construction and more anthropogenic factors. Mist swathed valleys around the Alaknanda Ganga valley below Joshimath. Hundrds of houses have recently developed cracks and started being demolished as a precaution.
