Ever seen the tubular tongue of a Woodpecker? Even katphoras like a change of flavour from insect feed to nectar! A Scaly-bellied Woodpecker (Picus squamatus) or Scaly-bellied Green Woodpecker dipping its tubular tongue to get nectar from Rhododendron flowers. The male is distinguishable from the female of the species due to the red patch on its head instead of the plain black of the female. Rhododendron arboreum or tree rhododendrons have a flamboyant display of large clumps of red flowers during spring in the Himalaya and attract all manner of birds, butterflies and bees to the nectar.
