Himalayan town of Devprayag in Uttarakhand, one of the holiest river confluences in India and an important pilgrimage destination in the Garhwal region. Devprayag is revered as the sacred point where the Alaknanda River descending from Badrinath meets the Bhagirathi River flowing from Gangotri. From this confluence onward, the united river is officially known as the Ganga or Ganges. Colorful hillside homes, temples, and narrow roads cling to the steep mountain slopes overlooking the dramatic river valley. The contrasting river colors visible at the Sangam create one of the most iconic landscapes in the Indian Himalayas. Situated at an elevation of around 830 meters above sea level, Devprayag is one of the Panch Prayag (five sacred river confluences) of Uttarakhand and holds immense spiritu
