A colony of Horned Treehoppers is seen on a small branch in winter at our Wilderness Orchard forest in Delhi. The mimic horns are quite distinct in this macro view and camouflaged into the dark coloured bark of the Wisteria twig. We are rather certain that ants and Tree hoppers have a deal going between them, but are they symbiotic? An ant can be seen sniffing a Treehopper. It appears that ants farm tree hoppers to harvest the sap that they collect, so it may well be a one-sided relationship! This footage is part of the broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest HD and 4K collection from South Asia.
