Rapid and sudden acceleration take-off from Paro airport - said to feature the more difficult landings and take-offs at any airport in the world, as the valley is surrounded by steep hillsides and snow mountains and any approach or exit from the valley must be rapid and steep, in order to surmount the valley walls. Here, a Druk Airways propeller aeroplane belonging to the Royal Government of Bhutan takes off at the only international airport in the land-locked Kingdom of Bhutan, sending up a plume of water behind each engine, as it readies off for take-off by revving up its engines on the wet runway, thanks to the recent winter rain...
