So adept and sure footed are they on inch-wide cliffs, with thousand foot falls below, that none can beat an Ibex for comfortable walk along the cliffs, munching on dry grasses along the way... See how this old goat actually feels nervous at one point, fighting for toe holds as it tries to climb diagonally down an inch-wide crack on the cliff. It manages to back up and negotiate the cliff somehow. A small herd of Himalayan Ibex (Capra sibrica) in the high altitudinal valley of Spiti are seen foraging underneath the snow. Himalayan Ibex are known to dig underneath the snow looking for dry vegetation during the lean season.
