Brigadier Ashok Abbey says "I would like to congratulate you Rupin and the entire Dang family for bringing out this book. You've compiled, you've edited it and I can see some good photographs of Mr. Dang taken by Vibha and Ahilya. So you just captured the moment and when I last met him of course in Uttarkashi before I left the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. He was very much that boisterous self on the banks of Bhagirathi river with his pipe in his hand. He had that old jacket of his which he was wearing in the 60s and he was carrying that aluminium frame rucksack. We were all charged up to see him, that here is a man who is coming to the Himalayas regularly."
