Pilgrims climb a narrow stone pathway towards the Yamunotri temple in Uttarakhand, one of the four sacred destinations of the Char Dham Yatra. Devotees walk in a steady line beside green metal railings built along the rocky cliff and cross a green steel bridge above the gorge. Many pilgrims use walking sticks to negotiate the steep steps, while roadside signs display safety warnings. Porters carry elderly and tired visitors in traditional cane baskets called kandis, helping them travel along the mountain trail. A flower-decorated palanquin procession moves through the village below snow-dusted hills. The scenes capture the busy pilgrimage route and the facilities used by visitors travelling to the Himalayan shrine.
