Amid the buzz of flies and the squeals and whistles of Orioles in the trees above is this scene of rednes in tooth and fang as a reasonably-grown tiger cub eats Sambhar deer's eye in Ranthambore, in the sultry summer heat, as another tiger cub comes out of blackish cool mud after it has wallowed in it in the hot weather. The cub nuzzles its mother's snout after the meal, in contentment and gratitude. Motherly love: Tigers of Ranthambhor deal with mighty heat in the summer months, cool off in wet mud and in streams. Black-headed Orioles call in the backdrop audio, as even the birds are challeged by the heat parade of the deadly summer of 2024.
