With the Bhagirathi peaks to the north, and Meru to the south, the peaks of Shivling and Baby Shivling tower over the Tapovan glacial shelf sub-valley. With the Gangotri glacier below and the glacial source of the Ganga close-by, the Meru glacier lies to the south, and Kedar Dome lies further up the Gangotri glacier.
