Camping site for riders of 'Raid de Himalaya' at Rangdum in Zanskar region of Ladakh which lies in the eastern half of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Raid de Himalaya, the only Indian motorsport event listed on the off-road rallies calendar of Federation Internationale Motorcyclisme (FIM), Geneva, Switzerland, has been organized by the Himalayan Motorsport Association and Maruti-Suzuki since 1999, making it one of India’s oldest international motorsport events. Breaking with tradition at the time, the Raid de Himalaya was a trail blazer, running a marathon format with special stages sometimes longer than 100 kilometers.
