It's winter time in Shillong, young lads warmly glad in a variety of checked woollen shawls having a chit-chat on the road. Black-yellow Ambassador taxi can be seen which are now defunct. A local salesman sells long dried loofah as a woman sweeps the ground. Loofah or Luffa is a vegetable which is popular and eaten in many parts of India. When the fruit is fully ripened, it is very fibrous. The fully developed fruit is the source of the loofah scrubbing sponge which is used in bathrooms and kitchens.
