The man who wrote scripts for classics like Louie Bunuel's 'Diary of chambermaids' and Peter Brook's 'The Mahabharata', Jean-Claude Carrière was in the capital recently. He was conducting a workshop for scriptwriting for Indian directors and writers. The event saw Jean-Claude Carrière says "The most important thing is to understand that the cinema has created its own specific language and you have to know it and that's the reason why many novelists believe that writing for a cinema is like writing for a novel, which is wrong you know. You have to know how to use the camera and what is movie writing really, which has nothing to do with the pen but with many other types of equipment."
