Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur in Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. One can see the 17th century Royal Palace which is now a Museum at Patan Durbar Square. The wooden windows and sculptures engraved can be seen at the Palace. Forming the whole eastern side of Durbar Square, the Royal Palace of Patan was originally built in the 14th century but was expanded massively during the 17th and 18th centuries by Siddhinarsingh Malla, Srinivasa Malla and Vishnu Malla. The Patan palace predates the palaces in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur and remains one of the architectural highlights of Nepal. Despite some damage during the earthquake, the palace and museum have been stabilized and restoration works are underway.
