The female Margpie family TreePie attacks the beak of her male, on his arrival at the nest. After both parents have initially fed their chicks, the female settles down to shelter them and sit atop them, but the chicks insist on craning their necks upward and begging for food, and not letting their mother smother them as she sits atop them. This confuses the mother Himalayan Tree Pie and she doesn't know how to react! She manages to finally sit astraddle all of them but every few moments, one chick or another pops up from her side or in front of her, and begs for food with its mouth open and pointed upwards, and its eyes tightly shut as they have not opened as yet!
