Kodaikanal is the place to be when you want to melt out from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you will get fresh air and the greenest place you can be, unlike other peaceful places kodakanial is in south India, Tamil Nadu not in the Himalayas. This misty hill station, 120km northwest of Madurai in the Palani hills, is more relaxed and intimate than its big sister Ooty (Kodai is the ‘Princess of Hill Stations’, while Ooty is the Queen). It’s not all cold either; during the day the weather can be more like a deep spring than early winter. Kodai is popular with honeymooners and groups, who flock to the spectacular viewpoints and waterfalls in and about town.
