Its Raksha Bandhan again in India and shops are filled with Rakhi or bracelet. The streets of Meerut are filled with colourful bracelets made of thread or metal. From fake pearls and glittery glass studded ones to the ones with children's cartoon characters, thousands of Rakhis are on display. Men women, young and old are seen buying the Rakhis. Chhota Bheem, Doraemon, Pikachu are some of the characters made into the Rakhis in order to attract the younger crowd. Talismans with religious symbols which are seen in many Hindu households are also on display. Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of a brother-sister relationship.
