Animals in Tal Chappar Sanctuary . Blackbuck or kala hiran, nilgai or Blue bull, Demoiselle Cranes and more! Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is a sanctuary located in the Churu district of Northwestern Rajasthan in the Shekhawati region of India. It is 210 km from Jaipur and situated on road from Ratangarh to Sujangarh. The Tal Chappar sanctuary lies in the Sujangarh Tehsil of Churu District. Tal Chhapar nestles a unique refuge of the most elegant Antelope encountered in India, "the Black buck". Other animals and birds found are Nilgai, Demoiselle cranes, Indian Roller etc. The blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) is an ungulate species of antelope native to the Indian subcontinent that has been classified as near threatened by IUCN since 2003, as its range has decreased sharply during the 20th century.
