Garhwal Himalayas as seen from the renowned Kartik Swami Temple. The horizon is dominated by some of the most iconic peaks of the Indian Himalayas, including Chaukhamba, Kedarnath Dome, and Neelkanth Peak. On exceptionally clear days, distant summits such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Bandarpunch may also be visible. Adding to the beauty of this Himalayan landscape is an Alpine Accentor, a native high-altitude bird commonly found in the rocky mountain habitats of northern India. The bird displays its characteristic grey head, streaked grey-brown upperparts, chestnut flanks marked with white streaks, and a slender pointed bill adapted for feeding on insects and seeds. The Alpine Accentor is one of the Himalayas' most resilient songbirds, thriving in cold alpine environments where few species
