Egg-like fungal growth cluster on decaying tree trunk

A cluster of white, egg-shaped structures is observed nestled within a crevice of decaying wood. These formations are most likely fungal fruiting bodies rather than reptile eggs. One possible identification is Cryptoporus volvatus, known for producing cream-colored, bubble-like structures on dead or dying trees. Another possibility includes immature stages of certain mushroom species, where the developing fruiting body is enclosed in a protective volva, giving it a smooth, egg-like appearance. Some puffball fungi also begin as small white spheres before maturing and releasing spores. The scene highlights fungal growth patterns, decomposition processes, and natural forest ecology.
