The unique vertical construction of this village bonfire created for the Bihu festival allows the fire to receive lots of oxygen and for the flames to leap up, leading to efficient combustion of the wood, and lots of burning embers flying and giving energy to the blaze. Shot in slow motion, the rich reds, oranges and yellows create a lovely frame, as the heat and warmth leaps out in the cold winter air of a village on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in India.
