The Yamuna River at Okhla Barrage in New Delhi, India, where the river is almost entirely covered by a thick blanket of toxic white foam. Large volumes of untreated domestic sewage, industrial effluents, surfactants, and phosphates from household detergents contribute to the formation of the persistent froth. As polluted water flows over the barrage, turbulence and aeration trap the foam against the barrage gates and concrete pillars, causing it to accumulate across the river surface. The video highlights the severe impact of water pollution on one of northern India's most important rivers, where extensive foam formation has become a recurring environmental concern.
