The Indus River, also known as the Sindhu River, flows through a deep mountain gorge near Garkon Village in the Aryan Valley of Ladakh. The bright turquoise river cuts through steep, barren rocky slopes, while a narrow mountain road follows the gorge along the hillside. Garkon Village is spread across a gentler slope, with clusters of traditional stone and concrete houses arranged among green trees and seasonal apricot orchards. Terraced sections of the settlement follow the natural contours of the mountain, contrasting with the surrounding arid terrain. Snow-capped Himalayan peaks are visible in the distance beyond the rugged canyon walls.
