At sunrise in Jabarkhet, Mussoorie, the Himalayan foothills awaken under a soft golden glow, with mist drifting gently through pine-covered slopes. The quiet mountain air and diffused early light create a serene atmosphere, ideal for observing the intricate interactions of nature. Amid this tranquil setting, an Asian Giant Hornet (Vespa mandarinia), often called the “murder hornet,” is seen perched on a blooming Cup-and-Saucer Vine (Cobaea scandens). Though widely known for its formidable size and predatory behavior, the hornet also feeds on nectar.
