A lively Grey-hooded Warbler (Phylloscopus xanthoschistos) is perched delicately on the top of a thin branch in the Himalayan forest, actively calling in clear, ringing notes that can be distinctly heard. This small leaf warbler is easily recognised by its grey hood, bright yellow underparts, and subtle wing markings. Against the fresh green backdrop of the hills, its vivid plumage stands out beautifully. Perched upright on the slender twig, the warbler balances lightly while delivering a series of sharp, melodious whistles. The call is crisp and repetitive, often echoing through the forest canopy, especially during the breeding season when males sing to establish territory and attract mates.
