Kabootars or Blue Rock Pigeons are few of the birds that have adapted superbly to the growing cities worldwide. They have adapted so well indeed that they have become close to being pests. Most people will identify with the dilemma of whether to destroy or allow the nest of a pigeon to survive on top of their window ledge, coolers or air conditioners. What adds to the dilemma is that the nest invariable either has eggs of chicks nestled in there. People also continue to feed these birds in great numbers along busy roads and the birds sit on top of electrical wires after feasting on their meal of corn.
