A Pheasant-tailed Jacana in non-breeding or eclipse plumage is moving through shallow wetland water covered with floating aquatic vegetation. The bird displays brown upperparts, white underparts, a dark eye stripe, and a pointed tail while foraging across the water surface. Pheasant-tailed Jacanas are wetland birds known for their long toes that help them walk across floating leaves and aquatic plants. The bird alternates between swimming and searching for food among the dense vegetation in the marshy habitat. Such wetlands provide feeding and breeding grounds for jacanas and many other aquatic bird species across South Asia. The footage captures the feeding behaviour and movement of the bird within a freshwater wetland ecosystem.
