The vast field of Bajra or Bajri looks unkempt and unattended with huge ingrowths of grass and weed. A closer look at the crops also suggests birds and pests living nearby have been having feast after feast with some of the head or panicle almost empty. You can also hear the insects and the birds nearby. Pear Millets are common food sources in India and have been believed to be a source of food since thousands of years ago. The millet is broken down to flour mostly and eaten as a flatbread almost like the wheat roti. In some areas, it is also made into porridge.
