This footage captures a regular day during the turtle hatching season along the Odisha coastline, an important nesting ground for the olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). The video begins with dozens of tiny hatchlings emerging from the soft coastal sand and instinctively moving toward the open ocean, each step a struggle as they navigate the large stretch of beach separating them from safety. Among them, one young hatchling encounters a piece of plastic waste lying directly on its path, a visual reminder of how human pollution disrupts the ancient and delicate journey of these marine reptiles.
